Chelsea could make a summer move for Phillippe Coutinho

Chelsea, Manchester United and Leicester City have made contact with Phillippe Coutinho’s agent regarding a summer move.

The Barcelona midfielder is up for grabs after failing to impress in Spain and Germany.

As per reports, Leicester and Newcastle are keen on the player as well.

It is evident that Coutinho has no future at the Catalan  club and a permanent move away from Spain would be ideal for him. It will be interesting to see where he ends up.

Chelsea and Manchester United could help him regain his form and confidence with regular first team football. Also, he was a star in the Premier League during his time at Liverpool. A return to his comfort zone could get the best out of him once again.

The Brazilian midfielder is valued at around £71m and it remains to be seen whether his suitors are willing to pay that kind of money on him. If Barcelona is determined to get rid of Coutinho now then they have to put him in market at cut-price rate. Otherwise if he play for Catalan club this season and complete 100th match with the club, Liverpool will be eligible for extra £17m as per contract.

It will be interesting to watch Coutinho situation this summer. Perhaps a loan term away from Camp Nou is most likely, as well as convenient outcome for all parties.

Coutinho is a world class player on his day and he could improve the likes of Chelsea a lot. He would add flair, vision and goals to the team. The Blues have not replaced Eden Hazard properly so far and the Brazilian could fill that void.

Similarly, Manchester United could use some more creative spark as well. Coutinho can play as an attacking midfielder or a winger. His signing will give Solskjaer more attacking options.

Barcelona are hoping to start a bidding war and the Premier league clubs certainly have the financial muscle to make their wishes come true.
