Mbappe could face problems at PSG in future, due to FFP rules

Kylian Mbappe could face problems at Paris Saint-Germain in future, due to FFP rules, as PSG have already spent hugely in transfer market.

Kylian Mbappe will cost £35m, claims French politician

Paris Saint-Germain have already spent a lot in the summer transfer window for new signings.

PSG are said to be working on the contract extension of Kylian Mbappe, whose contract expires next summer.

However, according to Marca, there are fears that FFP could be a stumbling block in Mbappe continuing his journey with the French capital club.

Paris Saint-Germain have been one of the most proactive sides in the summer transfer window. They have added the likes of Georginio Wijnaldum, Gianluigi Donnarumma and Sergio Ramos. They have so far splurged a total of 250m euros combinedly for the transfer fee, renewals and wages.

It could lead them to violate the FFP rules – which hadn’t been a concern for PSG in the past despite their great financial power – and could affect Mbappe’s contract extension with Les Parisiens.

Nasser Al-Khelaifi, the president of PSG, had earlier stated that the chances of Mbappe leaving Parc Des Princes are less, and the club is keen on his renewal.

However, the 22-year-old appears to have other ideas as he wants to leave Ligue 1 side this summer, and hence he is stalling his contract talks.

The former Monaco star has been heavily linked with a move to Real Madrid and Liverpool, and the former one looks like his potential suitors.

Mbappe has long been linked with Madrid, and the Spanish capital club looks like the only team that can afford his high wages.

The French forward has won many titles at such a young age, yet the Champions League is the only one missing in his trophy cabinet.

Former French striker Nikolas Anelka had suggested that Mbappe needs to move to a top club in Europe in order to win the prestigious Ballon d’Or award.

There has been much speculation regarding Mbappe’s future at PSG, but it remains to be seen whether he would stay put or look for a new club this summer.
