The Brazilian star could play for Barcelona next season
Philippe Coutinho’s agent Kia Joorabchian has stated that the Brazilian playmaker could feature for Barcelona next season.
Bayern Munich have confirmed that they will end the loan spell of Coutinho once their Champions League campaign ends this season.
The 28-year-old is understood be on the summer wishlist of Arsenal. Joorabchian, however, hasn’t put away the idea of his client playing for the Catalans next season.
Joorabchian said, “I think after the Champions League is finished, and whatever happens, then we will sit down. I have even spoken to him about it actually. It could be that Barcelona is the ultimate destination.”
Joorabchian added that a return to the Premier League is less likely for his client owing to the financial crisis caused by the pandemic.
“He loves the Premier League, he wants to come to the Premier League, but finances and the numbers and the situation of Covid-19 are all going to play a big part, because he is a big player with big numbers.”
It was previously stated that Barca weren’t considering Coutinho as a part of their plans next season.
Barca are also seemingly struggling to find a new suitor for the former Liverpool star owing to his price tag.
Coutinho recently scored a brace in Bayern’s 8-2 win over Barca in the quarter-finals.
With Barca likely to appoint a new manager, it remains to be seen whether the Brazilian can survive in Spain or the Catalans would manage to get rid of him.
