Manchester City forward Ferran Torres has completed his transfer to Barcelonaand the Spanish international has signed a contract with them until the summer of 2027, as FC Barcelona officially confirmed.

The attacker joined Manchester City from Valencia, but he has now decided to return to his homeland, and he will be hoping to make his mark with the Spanish giants now.

Torres has signed a five year deal with Barcelona, and he has a release clause of around 1 billion euros.

The attacker struggled for regular game time under Pep Guardiola, and it will be interesting to see if he can hold down a regular starting berth at Barcelona now.

A player of his calibre deserves to play more often, and Barcelona could use a quality forward as well.

Since the departure of Lionel Messi and Antoine Griezmann, Barcelona have struggled in the final third, and they will be hoping that their new signing can improve them on that front.

Furthermore, the retirement of Sergio Aguero due to medical reasons forced the club’s hands, and it is no surprise that they have decided to invest in a quality striker.

Torres can operate as a wide forward as well, and his versatility will be an added bonus for the Barcelona manager Xavi Hernandez.

The former Manchester City attacker knows the Spanish league well from his time at Valencia, and he should be able to make an immediate impact at Barcelona.

The Spanish international is likely to partner Memphis Depay in the attack.

Torres helped Manchester City win the Premier League and the League Cup last season, and he will be hoping to guide Barcelona to silverware this year.
