Barcelona interested in a loan move for Man United outcast, Xavi eyeing a reunion with club legend

Donny van de Beek-Manchester United

Van de Beek on the radar of Barcelona

Barcelona are interested in Manchester United outcast Donny van de Beek, who is keen to leave Old Trafford to enjoy more game time.

According to a report from Football Espana, Barca are ready to provide the Dutch midfielder with an escape route by trying to sign him on loan in the January window.

Van de Beek has endured a nightmare spell at Old Trafford, falling down the pecking order of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

The former Ajax midfielder’s potential loan move to Everton on the final day of the summer transfer window was blocked by the Red Devils, much to his dismay.

Still appearing to be not in the plans of Solskjaer, Van de Beek is keen to leave Man Utd in the winter transfer exchanges.

The Toffees’ interest in the 24-year-old hasn’t changed while Barca have also joined the transfer race.

Van de Beek has recently switched his agent to Ali Dursun, who also represents Barca midfielder and Van de Beek’s international team-mate, Frenkie de Jong.

Xavi wants to bring Puyol to the Nou Camp

Xavis potential return to Barca as the new manager looks imminent and he is said to be working on the selection of backroom staff.

According to a report from Sport Bible, Xavi wants Blaugrana legend Carles Puyol to accompany him in the coaching unit.

Puyol is still remembered as one of the best captains in Blaugrana history and his warrior-like qualities helped the Catalan giants achieve much success.

Xavi played under Puyol’s leadership and he thinks that the former defender’s return to the Nou Camp would be vital.
