The Argentine turns out to be a summer target for the Catalans.

Inter Milan vice president Javier Zanetti has shrugged off the transfer talks with Barcelona over the transfer of Lautaro Martinez.

Martinez remains a priority for the Catalans, with the recent reports suggesting that they are ready to make a final offer for the Argentine striker.

When Zanetti was asked about the transfer speculations of Martinez to Barca, he replied:

“I am very happy for the moment he is experiencing. He did a lot to get to the national team, I think Argentina can have number 9 for many years in him. Will he go to Barcelona? To date there is no negotiation with Barcelona for Lautaro.”

Barca have been persistent on the former Racing striker for a while but they couldn’t make any breakthrough owing to his expensive valuation. It was also reported that Martinez would have been a Barca player if not for the Pandemic.

Meanwhile, Barca have identified Memphis Depay as a cheaper alternative at the request of new manager Ronald Koeman. The Dutch manager has found Luis Suarez not perfect for his plans.

The Uruguayan has reportedly chosen Juventus as his next destination, with the transfer looking imminent.

Zanetti also spoke about summer target Arturo Vidal, who Antonio Conte wants at San Siro next season.

“Vidal? He is a player with great qualities and personality, but today he is a Barcelona player.”

Nonetheless, the Chilean midfielder is ready to make a return to Serie A after being put on the transfer exchange by Barca.
