Barcelona optimistic about Fati’s return for Bayern clash, Torres’ signing preferred over Olmo

Ansu Fati inspires Barcelona to a 4-0 win over Villarreal

Fati could return for Bayern Munich game in the Champions League

Barcelona believe star forward Ansu Fati could return for the Champions League clash against Bayern Munich, as per reports from Diario Sport via Barca Blaugranes.

The Spanish teenager has been sidelined since picking up a hamstring injury against Celta Vigo in La Liga.

However, Fati was spotted returning to training on Tuesday and he is desperate to return to action for the do or die game against Bayern.

The report also adds that new manager Xavi could rely on Fati only if he is fully fit.

The former midfielder spoke about Fati’s fitness ahead of the La Liga game against Villarreal, which ended in a 3-1 win for the Blaugrana.

Xavi said: “He is doing very well, he has very good feelings. He has started to run, but we have to be careful. Then we will see if we can take the risk or not. The other day we did it with Ousmane, he did not score but he was close and that is appreciated. Ansu is a very important player and we cannot risk losing him again, but it will depend on the player’s feelings.”

Barca will face the Bavarians next week and a win alone could secure their place in the round of 16.

Barca prefer Ferran Torres over Dani Olmo

Barcelona could give up on long-time target Dani Olmo after identifying Ferran Torres as their top target.

According to Sport via Barca Blaugranes, the Catalans have cooled their interest in the RB Leipzig star and have turned their attention toward Torres.

Olmo has been heavily linked with a return to the Nou Camp, with the Spaniard also reportedly ready to leave the Bundesliga outfit in January.

However, Ferran Torres has become the Catalans’ No. 1 target in recent weeks and the club are said to be exploring the options to sign him from Manchester City in January.
