Barcelona submit an improved offer for Raphinha, although a new deal agreed with Dembele as well

Ousmane Dembele-Barcelona

Barcelona have been heavily linked with a move for the Leeds United winger Raphinha this summer.

The Premier League side are holding out for a fee of £60m, but Fabrizio Romano claims that Barcelona have not met the asking price yet. However, the Catalan giants have submitted an improved new offer for the player.

It will be interesting to see if Leeds are willing to scale down their demands for the talented winger and accept Barcelona’s offer. The Spanish giants are in an economical crisis, and they might not be able to afford £60m for the winger.

Raphinha has made it clear that he wants to play for the Spanish giants and has already agreed on personal terms with Barcelona. A player of his calibre deserves to play for a top team, and Barcelona can provide him with regular Champions League football.

The Leeds winger needs to play at a higher level to achieve his true potential, and a move to La Liga would be ideal for him.

Meanwhile, Barcelona are looking to keep Ousmane Dembele at the club next season. The French winger is currently a free agent after his contract expired last month, but he has already agreed on an extension with Barcelona.

It will be interesting to see if the two parties can complete the formalities of the transfer and get him signed for the long term.

During the second half of last season, Dembele was excellent for Barcelona, and he seems to have finally gotten over his injury problems.

It remains to be seen whether Barcelona can bring both Raphinha and Dembele into the side for next season. Both players are naturally right-sided winners, and Xavi might find it difficult to accommodate in the starting line-up.

One would assume that Barcelona are trying to bring in Raphinha as their top target, and they could abandon the renewal of Dembele if the deal for the Brazilian is secured.
