Laporta meets Haaland’s agent in Italy.

Barcelona president Joan Laporta, who was accompanying Pedri for the Golden Boy award in Italy, has reportedly held talks with Mino Raiola.

It has fuelled the transfer speculations of Erling Haaland to Barca, with the Dortmund striker being one of the top clients of Raiola.

Laporta tends to have a great relationship with the super-agent for a long time and famous journalist Fabrizio Romano reports that the meeting wasn’t formal.

Haaland is one of the players being watched by the Catalans ahead of a potential transfer next summer.

Raiola also recently commented that there would be a transfer war for Haaland and the Camp Nou could be a potential destination.

The Norwegian sensation is a far-fetched target for Barca due to their financial crisis however the Spanish giants believe there will be much-needed cash flow if they strike a deal with CVC.

The Blaugrana have also identified some cost-effective options like Julian Alvarez, Arthur Cabral and Edinson Cavani.

De Jong’s father weighs in on exit speculations.

Frenkie de Jong‘s exit rumours have been circulating lately, as the Catalans are said to be ready to place him on the transfer exchange. Bayern Munich and Manchester are reportedly leading the race for the former Ajax star.

However, De Jong’s father feels that there is hardly any chance for the midfielder to leave the Nou Camp.

John de Jong said (h/t Barca Blaugranes): “It’s often bad weather there. Of course it’s about football, but it does matter. I know that Barcelona needs money and a great offer for Frenkie could help, but I don’t see it happening anytime soon. Although, the five top European clubs have all called.”

The Dutch midfielder reportedly has the full backing of Xavi to become an important player in his system.
