Girona

After a three-season absence from the top-flight, Girona have made a decent start to their league campaign, taking three points from their first two games of the season.

Their first game of the season was a 1-0 loss to Valencia. They showed proper fight in the game as Valencia needed a penalty to dispatch them. They blew Getafe away on Monday (3-1) thanks to goals from Christian Stuani, Domingos Duarte (ow-goal) and Valentin Castellanos.

With another home game this weekend, Girona will hope they can bank on their home support to cheer them on this time. However, one will have to go back to March 2018 for the last time the hosts won back-to-back league home matches.

But with a 100% winning record against Celta Vigo at home in the Spanish top-flight (W2), Miguel will fancy his side’s chances of getting a win here.

Possible Girona starting line-up

Juan Carlos; Santiago Bueno, David Lopez, Juanpe; Yan Couto, Aleix Garcia; Yangel Herrera, Miguel Gutierrez; Samuel Saiz Alonso, Christian Stuani; V. Castellanos.

Injured: Borja Garcia, Ibrahima Kebe, Bernardo Espinosa, Rodrigo Riquelme

Doubtful: None

Suspended: None

Celta Vigo

While Girona have made a decent start to their league campaign, Celta Vigo’s start has been far from ideal.

The visitors opened their league campaign with a 2-2 draw with Espanyol, followed by a 4-1 loss to Real Madrid last time out.

In those two games, they conceded six goals and so they sit at the bottom of the table for goals conceded heading into this tie.

Scoring has not been a problem for Celta though as they have only failed to score in each of their last seven league games. And so, the focus will be to tighten at the back as they look to record their first win of the season.

Possible Celta Vigo starting line-up

Agustin Marchesin; Hugo Mallo, Unai Nunez, Joseph Aidoo, Javi Galan; Fran Beltran; Franco Cervi, Rodriguez Arnaiz, Augusto Solari; Goncalo Paciencia, Iago Aspas.

Injured: None

Doubtful: None

Suspended: None
