Tottenham update: Mourinho chat with Alli, Reguilon exit, injury crisis

Mourinho during United vs Spurs match

Mourinho showdown talk with Dele Alli

Tottenham midfielder Dele Alli was heavily linked with a move away from the London club last month but the Premier League side managed to hold onto him for the remainder of the season.

Apparently the 24 year old England international was alone target for Paris Saint Germain but Spurs failed to secure a replacement for him and therefore the loan move was blocked eventually.

Manager Jose Mourinho has now confirmed that he has held showdown talks with the talented young attacking midfielder and Tottenham will now try and re-integrate him into their first team squad.

Alli has fallen down the pecking order at Spurs and it will be interesting to see if he can resurrect his career at the London club.

There is no doubt that the 24 year old is one of the most talented young players in England and he could be a sensational option for Tottenham if he can regain his confidence and sharpness.

Mourinho has revealed that he has found some common ground with the player and it will be interesting to see if the two can sort out their differences for the benefit of the side.

He said: “I had a good conversation with him yesterday, we spoke around this question that you ask me.

“I think we found a very common ground, let’s say. It’s an important period of the season for the team, and for him also. We need him, we need a good Dele Alli. We are just waiting for him to be back to normality, training with the team.”

Reguilon exit rumour

Meanwhile defender Sergio Reguilon is rumoured to join Real Madrid at the end of this season.

Apparently the Spanish left back has said yes to a return to the Spanish capital.

Real Madrid have a buy back clause in his contract and they will be able to sign him for a fee of around £40 million at the end of the season, if the left back agrees to come back to his home city.

Tottenham Injury crisis

Furthermore, Tottenham continue to be plagued with injuries and it will be interesting to see if Jose Mourinho can get his side firing without their key attacking players in the coming weeks.

The likes of Harry Kane and Giovani lo Celso have been ruled out for a few weeks and the London club are running out of quality attacking options now.

Alli and Reguilon are currently out injured as well and all four players will miss the Chelsea clash.
