Barcelona striker Luis Suarez has joined Atletico Madrid on a €6m deal this summer.
Both clubs have confirmed the transfer and it will be interesting to see how Suarez performs for the capital club this season.
“FC Barcelona and Atletico Madrid have reached an agreement for the transfer of the player Luis Suarez. The Madrid club will pay FC Barcelona €6 million in variables,” the Catalan club announced.
“FC Barcelona would like to publicly express their gratitude to Luis Suarez for his commitment and dedication and wishes him all the best for the future.”
He has been a key player for Barcelona ever since he moved to Camp Nou and Barcelona must look to bring in someone quality to replace his goals.
The Uruguayan leaves Barcelona as their third all time top scorer with 198 goals. He has also won every available trophy with the Spanish giants.
There is no doubt that Suarez will be lauded as a club legend and he will be hoping to write a similar chapter in his story at Atletico now.
Simeone will be hoping to challenge for the title with Atletico this season and signings like Suarez could give his side the boost they need.
It will be exciting to see how the combination of Costa and Suarez works this season. Both players are highly aggressive and they are famous for their notoriety on the pitch.
