Pedri new deal in the pipeline

Barcelona are looking to offer midfielder Pedri Gonzalez a new deal this summer.

The 18-year-old has been a revelation for the Spanish club over the past year and he featured in 51 of Barcelona’s 52 games last season.

He was also a key member of the Spanish national team during the Euros and the Olympics.

Pedri is undoubtedly one of the best young talents in world football right now and Barcelona’s intention to tie him down to a long term contract is hardly surprising.

Despite his tender age, Pedri has managed to establish himself as one of the best midfielders in La Liga over the past year and he has a massive future ahead of him.

Barcelona cannot afford to lose prodigious young talents like him and therefore the fans will be hoping that the extension can be sorted soon.

Apparently, the Spanish club are now prepared to reward him for his performances with a pay rise and a four-year contract.

Barcelona need to offload five fringe players

In other news, the Spanish giants have just 10 days left to get rid of some of their fringe players.

The transfer window is nearing its conclusion and the Spanish outfit will have to ensure that they remove the deadwood from the squad and reduce their wage bill.

Barcelona are in a financial crisis right now with massive debt and that has led to the departure of Lionel Messi to Paris Saint Germain earlier on in the summer.

According to reports, the likes of Miralem Pjanic, Samuel Umtiti, Martin Braithwaite, Philippe Coutinho and Ilaix Moriba are on the chopping block.

All of the aforementioned players have struggled to hold down a regular starting berth at Barcelona in recent months and their form has been below par.

It will be interesting to see if the Spanish outfit can find suitors for all of them before the transfer window closes at the end of this month.
