Rayo Vallecano

Rayo Vallecano will look to keep their impressive run of form going when they host their local rivals Madrid on Monday.

The hosts have enjoyed a strong run of form in recent weeks, having not lost a game since their 3-1 defeat to Almería in early October (W2, D2).

Their last outing was a 1-0 win over Sevilla away from home. That win was their first league win at Ramon Sanchez against the Andalusian team in over 22 years and will have boosted the confidence of Andoni Iraola’s men who are attempting to beat Real Madrid for the second time in the league this century.

Los Franjirrojos have lost 16 of the last 1u meetings between both sides, with that sole win coming in April 2019.

They come into this tie sitting in the top half of the table and given their form they will fancy their chances of staying in the top half beyond this week, especially as this game comes at home, where they are enjoying a four-match unbeaten sequence (W3, D1).

Real Madrid

For Real Madrid, it is about getting back to winning ways in the league and continuing their stay at the top of the La Liga table when they make the short trip to Campo de Futbol de Vallecas on Monday night.

The visitors are still unbeaten in the league after 12 games (W10, D2) and come into this game sitting just one point ahead of Barcelona in second.

They were held to a 1-1 draw with Girona last weekend–a game that saw them pick up their first red card of the season when Toni Kroos was sent off late in the game.

However, Carlo Ancelotti’s men bounced back in style in the UEFA Champions League in midweek, defeating Celtic 5-1 at home to ensure that they finished top of their UCL group.

The goal will now be to continue their run in the league and to extend their winning run away from home in the league, which currently stands at six consecutive wins.

Possible Real Madrid starting line-up

Thibaut Courtois; Dani Carvajal, Antonio Rudiger, David Alaba, Ferland Mendy; Eduardo Camavinga, Luka Modric, Aurelien Tchoumeni, Federico Valverde, Vinicius Junior, Rodrygo..

Injured: None
