Edinson Cavani linked with Real Madrid

Real Madrid are keen on improving their attacking options this summer and they could make a move for the Uruguayan international Edinson Cavani if they fail to sign Erling Haaland from Borussia Dortmund as per Fichajes.

The 35-year-old Manchester United striker is set to leave Old Trafford in the summer and it will be interesting to see if he is willing to join the Spanish club.

Cavani has been linked with a return to South America but the prospect of playing for Real Madrid could be a tempting proposition for the experienced goal scorer.

He could be the ideal backup option for Karim Benzema in the short term and he’s likely to be available for cheap as well.

The Uruguayan international has proven himself in Italy, France and England. He will be determined to make his mark in Spanish football as well.

Reece James on Real Madrid’s radar

Meanwhile, the Spanish giants are looking to bring in a quality full-back this summer and they have identified the Chelsea defender Reece James as a target.

According to a report from the mirror, Carlo Ancelotti has scouted the England international defender nine times this season and the 22-year-old has been earmarked as a potential replacement for Dani Carvajal.

James has been a key player for Chelsea over the past year and he has the potential to develop into a top-class defender in the future.

It’ll be interesting to see if the Blues are willing to sell the youngster at the end of the season.

Chelsea are in a difficult financial position because of the sanctions imposed on Roman Abramovich and there is uncertainty surrounding their future unless a takeover goes through.

It remains to be seen whether Real Madrid can exploit the current circumstances and lure the 22-year-old defender away from Stamford Bridge in the coming months.
