Cristiano Ronaldo announced with a heavy heart, that they had lost their new-born baby boy.
Manchester United star player and his wife Georgina were expecting twins. The couple announced the pregnancy in October.
Ronaldo posted the news on Instagram on Monday evening. His son died during childbirth. The baby girl survived and now giving strength and hope at this hard time for the couple.
In a statement on social media, they said, “it is the greatest pain that any parents can feel.”
The couple also thanked the doctors and nurses for their expert care and support, “We would like to thank the doctors and nurses for their expert care and support. We are all devastated at this loss, and we kindly ask for privacy at this tough time. Our baby boy, you are angel. We will always love you.”
Ronaldo’s current club Man UTD shared sympathy on their social media post, “Your pain is our pain, Cristiano; Sending love and strength to you and the family at this time.”
Real Madrid, Manchester City, Leed United and the Premier League also tweeted messages of condolence.
