The Belgium coach has weighed in on speculations regarding Barcelona.

Belgium coach Roberto Martinez is reportedly one of the names considered by Barcelona as a replacement for underperforming Ronald Koeman.

Koeman’s future at Nou Camp is not looking good after a dismal start to the season, suffering three defeats in the last four games.

While the Dutch gaffer has the backing of president Joan Laporta, his fortunes could change if Barca shows no improvement in the coming weeks.

Belgium coach Martinez is on the wishlist of the Catalan club alongside Erik Ten Hag, Andrea Pirlo and Xavi.

Now, the Red Devils manager, who will be leading his side against France in the Nations League semi-finals, has addressed the speculations revolving around Barca.

Martinez insisted that he is focused on the national team job for the time being but hinted that he would make a suitable decision if required.

Martinez said (h/t Goal): “In all honesty, I don’t spend much time thinking about my future. My career shows that I don’t make plans to get to where I am now. I just go from project to project. You learn that you have to be committed today.

“In football, if you start thinking you just drop your performance and underachieve in what you do. In my case, I am very, very happy in what I am doing and I am just trying to achieve the next steps.

“In the end, if I have to arrive at a decision where there’s a door I will just try to make the best decision for everyone.”

The Spanish manager has done an impressive job at Belgium, helping them become the No.1 side in FIFA rankings.
