Real Madrid defender Sergio Ramos has been offered the chance to return to his boyhood club Sevilla this summer.

According to reports, the Spanish outfit have offered the 35-year-old defender a five-year contract.

Ramos will be a free agent at the end of this month, and Real Madrid are yet to agree on an extension with him.

The report further states that the Spanish international will earn around £6 million per season at Sevilla until he is 40 years old.

It will be interesting to see if Ramos is willing to accept the offer and return to his boyhood club in the summer.

Real Madrid are clearly not keen on accepting his demands regarding a new deal, and the player will have to decide his future soon.

Ramos has been an exceptional servant for Real Madrid over the years, and he’s undoubtedly a club legend. The defender helped them win several Champions League trophies and La Liga titles.

He has won a total of 22 trophies since joining Real Madrid in 2005, having come through the Sevilla youth system.

Letting him leave on a free transfer could prove to be a mistake for the Spanish giants this summer.

Despite being 35, Ramos still has a lot to offer at the highest level, and his winning experience and leadership could prove to be invaluable for the Real Madrid dressing room.

The likes of Giorgio Chiellini and Leonardo Bonucci recently showed the importance of experience and leadership during Italy’s game against Turkey in the European Championships, and Ramos could make a similar impact at Real Madrid next season.
