Cristiano Ronaldo wants to choose his next club before the Premier League starts

Cristiano Ronaldo-Portugal against France

Cristiano Ronaldo is reportedly desperate to resolve his future before Manchester United’s opening game of the Premier League season this weekend.

The Portuguese international wants to leave Old Trafford this summer as he is in search of Champions League football.

He has already informed his current club of his desire to leave and is now waiting for the issue to be resolved.

According to Spanish paper AS via Sportsmail, the former Real Madrid man wants that to happen before the new league season begins. United play their season opener against Brighton & Hove Albion on Sunday and Ronaldo is hoping that before then he would have found a new club.

But with just five days before the season starts, Ronaldo is running out of time and he may end up starting the new season at Old Trafford.

The 37-year-old made his Manchester United return over the weekend against Rayo Vallecano. He lasted just 45 minutes and was the only player that was substituted in the first half by Erik Ten Hag.

He departed the stadium before the end of the 90 minutes, resulting in much criticism from the club’s supporters.

But despite his desire to leave Manchester United have insisted that he is not for sale this summer, while manager Ten Hag is also making plans to use him this season.

And with Anthony Martial out with an injury, Ronaldo could be thrown straight into action against Brighton on Sunday.
