Real Madrid picked up a 2-1 win over Valencia in the Spanish league earlier tonight.

Los Blancos went down to a strike from Hugo Duro but the likes of Vinicius junior and Karim Benzema scored in the final four minutes of the game to secure all three points for Carlo Ancelotti’s side.

Here at Anytime football, we look at the three major talking points from tonight’s contest.

Vinicius junior making the difference once again

The Brazilian has found a fresh lease of life under Carlo Ancelotti and he continues to improve week in week out.

The young forward has been outstanding for Real Madrid this season and he was once again the difference-maker against Valencia.

Vinicius scored the equaliser for his side with a calm finish after he was picked out by Karim Benzema with an intelligent pass and the Brazilian returned the favour by delivering a superb cross to the French international who headed the winner past the Valencia keeper.

Camavinga making his case to earn a starting berth

The youngster was given another run-out by Carlo Ancelotti today.

With Real Madrid needing goals against Valencia, the summer signing was brought on to shake things up and create opportunities for his teammates.

Camavinga showed intelligence and maturity in possession and he impressed with another important cameo for the Spanish giants.

Real Madrid need to sort out their right-back options

Carlo Ancelotti started his first-choice right-back, Dani Carvajal, tonight but he chose to replace the Spaniard with Lucas Vazquez later on in the game and the midfielder struggled in an unfamiliar position.

Vazquez is not a specialist defender and Real Madrid must look to use him in his natural role going forward.

The Spanish outfit should look to use Alvaro Odriozola as an alternative to Carvajal if need be. Using Vazquez in that role not only weakens them defensively, it also limits the player’s offensive qualities.
