The French forward has decided to stay put at PSG for the 2021/22 season.

PSG star Kylian Mbappe is reportedly set to stay at the French Capital for the upcoming season, thus ruling out the exit speculations.

The 22-year-old has been highly speculated to leave Paris Saint-Germain this summer after not agreeing to an extension, with his current deal expiring in the summer of 2022.

It has since led to his exit rumours, and Real Madrid have been said to be the interested party.

However, Mbappe has now changed his mind and will stay put at Parc Des Princes for the 2021/22 season.

Although the report might have given a huge sigh of relief for Les Parisiens, they are still caught in a dilemma as Mbappe would be available for free next year if he opts against signing a new deal.

It can be assumed that PSG would try their best to convince Mbappe to put pen to paper in the coming months as they don’t like the idea of their prized asset leaving the club for nothing.

Madrid has been mooted as a possible destination for the French World Cup winner for a long time, but it looks like they have to wait for a while to get their hands at their dream target.

The former Monaco star featured for the France national team in the European Championship, which eventually turned out as a lacklustre campaign.

Mbappe was highly criticized for his substandard performances and missing the decisive penalty against Switzerland in the round of 16.

It is also added that the French forward would feature in PSG’s Ligue 1 opener against Troyes.

After doing excellent business in the summer transfer window so far, PSG boasts a star-studded squad and will look to reclaim their Ligue 1 title and end their drought in the Champions League.
