Les Parisiens have signed Mendes on a season-long with purchase option.

PSG capped off the summer transfer window by signing Sporting full-back Nuno Mendes on the deadline day.

Les Parisiens have signed the Portuguese left-back on a season-long loan but they can make him a permanent buy for 34m pounds.

PSG attacker Pablo Sarabia has joined Sporting CP on loan as a part of the deal.

Mendes had his breakthrough at Sporting CP last season after spending considerable years at the club’s youth ranks.

The 19-year-old was an integral part of the Sporting CP side that lifted the Primeira Liga title last season while making 29 appearances in the process.

Mendes, who has made 5 appearances with the Portugal national team, was also part of the Euro 2020 squad.

The highly-rated Portuguese left-back’s name often appeared on the wishlist of European giants like Manchester United, Man City and Liverpool in the transfer window but it was PSG who managed to win the transfer race.

Les Parisiens have arguably enjoyed one of the best transfer windows in history after signing the likes of Sergio Ramos, Gianluigi Donnarumma, Georginio Wijnaldum, Achraf Hakimi and Lionel Messi.

The left-back spot looked like the weakest link but Mendes’ addition has made PSG cover all the ground. Abdou Diallo has been operating as Les Parisiens’ make-shift left-back in Ligue 1 this season.

The Portuguese prospect is known for his defensive solidity and ball-carrying attributes and manager Mauricio Pochettino can benefit highly from him.
