Mbappe’s future is in the air following links with Real Madrid.

PSG Sporting director Leonardo has said that the club is in the right direction regarding the contract talks of Kylian Mbappe and Neymar and will reach the conclusion imminently.

Both the players have their contract running out in the summer of 2022, with Mbappe’s situation turning out to be slightly complicated due to the links with Real Madrid and Liverpool.

Leonardo said,

“I have been surprised by some of the talk surrounding Mbappé. He still has a full season [remaining on his contract]. His status at the club is more and more important and he is constantly shouldering more responsibilities. Then there is consistency and his career path to take into account. We have been talking to him for some time and the time to make a decision has arrived. We have also been talking with Neymar. We will reach an outcome imminently.”

Les Parisiens could be forced to sell the French World Cup winner this summer if he opts against signing a new deal. They have also placed a price tag worth €200m for Mbappe.

As far as Neymar is concerned, the Brazilian looks clear in his decision, that is to continue playing for Paris Saint-Germain.

It was reported earlier that the Brazilian had agreed over a new five year deal with the French Champions, thus brushing off his links on a return to his former club Barcelona.

Although Madrid remain the frontrunners to sign Mbappe, their arch-rivals Barcelona can afford the signing of the French forward, revealed by the presidential candidate Toni Freixa.
