Despite conceding the title to Liverpool this season, City have been trying to show their quality since the restart and it was evident that they will return with a vengeance next year.
Riyad Mahrez scored the second goal for City on the 21st minute and an own goal from Federico Fernandez made it 3-0 to the home side.
David Silva and Raheem Sterling scored the other two goals to secure a fantastic result for Guardiola’s team.
It will be interesting to see if City can finish the season strongly now.
They can still make their mark in Europe with the Champions League due to restart soon. Building the momentum in the Premier League with a series of good performances can boost their chances of winning the Champions League this season.
As for Newcastle, the defeat leaves them 13th in the table with 43 points. City remain second with 69 points.
