Adidas are facing a race against time to make Lionel Messi jerseys after running out of stock of the Argentine’s jersey.
The Paris Saint-Germain attacker is one of the most famous athletes in the world and has even made himself more popular with a host of dazzling displays in the ongoing World Cup in Qatar.
His jersey in the Argentina national team is sold out worldwide and commands a lot of attention.
However, there now is a shortage of his shirts, with Adidas stores in Buenos Aires, Madrid, Doha, and Tokyo all out of stock of the Argentina jersey of the No.10.
According to MARCA, Messi’s jerseys are missing in stores all across the World regardless of the size. However, from the smallest to the biggest, for men or women, Adidas have run of Messi Argentina jerseys.
This shortage has triggered the production and sales of counterfeits. The AFA, harassed by complaints, came out a few days ago: “We can’t do anything about it, although it’s in our interest to sell more. It is a matter of Adidas, and there are problems in the country that affect them, such as the obstacles to imports and the lack of manpower, as well as the high level of public anger.”
Adidas have explained that it is impossible to increase production overnight to replenish a product. However, they are working against the clock so that if Argentina wins the World Cup on Sunday, the Argentina kit and Messi’s kit will be available in most parts of the world as soon as possible.
