Aggressive Chelsea pick up thumping 4-0 win over Crystal Palace

Frank Lampard introduced Girud in place of a defender before the goal

Chelsea picked up a 4-0 win over Crystal Palace in the Premier League earlier today at Stamford Bridge.

Summer signing Ben Chilwell scored the opening goal of the game 5 minutes into the second half to give Chelsea the lead.

The Blues doubled their lead through Kurt Zouma’s goal around the hour mark and then Jorginho scored two penalties two hand Frank Lampard  side a comfortable victory at home.

Chelsea have had a mixed start to their season and they will be delighted with the result and the performance today.

Lampard fielded a highly attacking lineup today and it paid off for Chelsea.

It will be interesting to see if the Blues can build on this and put together a winning run now.

Chelsea spent hundreds of millions of pounds in the transfer market, this summer and they will be expected to challenge for the top honours. It remains to be seen whether Frank Lampard can lead them to a trophy this season.

There is no doubt that the Blues have a quality attacking unit at their disposal and if they can tighten up at the back, they will have a good chance of achieving their targets.

Chelsea looked assured at the back today and Crystal Palace struggled to break through the likes of Thiago Silva and Ben Chilwell.

The Blues managed to finish in the top four last year and they will be hoping to do better this season and challenge for the Premier League title.
