Liverpool defender Andy Robertson has signed a new contract with the Premier League club.

The 27-year-old left-back has been outstanding since his move from Hull City, and he has established himself as one of the best defenders in the Premier League.

Robertson is a crucial player for Jurgen Klopp’s side, and it is no surprise that the Reds have decided to tie him down to a long term deal.

Apart from his defensive qualities, the Scottish international is exceptional going forward, and he is undoubtedly one of the best attacking full-backs in the world right now.

Robertson has consistently picked up a remarkable number of assists every season since joining the Merseyside club.

The defender is currently sidelined with an injury, but he is expected to return to action soon.

The Scottish international will be hoping to help Liverpool win some silverware this season. Robertson has already won the Premier League and the Champions League with Liverpool.

Having signed his contract with the Reds, Robertson revealed that there is no other place he would rather be, and Liverpool is home for him.

He also thanked the club and the fans for the faith and support they have shown towards him.

“Obviously, when the negotiations started and it looked as if my future was going to be here longer term than what it was, then I think it’s no secret that I’m happy at this club,” Robertson told Liverpoolfc.com.

“I want to stay at this club for as long as possible, and to extend my stay, it’s always a happy time for me, for my family. We’re settled here, we love everything about this football club, and I’m glad that the journey is continuing.”
