Chelsea are looking to tie their midfielders down to long term contracts and the likes of N’Golo Kante, Jorginho and Mason Mount are expected to be rewarded for their performances soon.
According to Evening Standard, the Blues are currently closing in on a new deal for Andreas Christensen.
The Danish international has been outstanding for Chelsea this season and he is set to sign a £120,000 a week contract with the club.
It is no surprise that the Blues are looking to extend the contracts of the three midfielders given their contributions over the past year.
Jorginho was excellent for Chelsea and his country last year and he managed to win the Champions League and the European Championships.
Furthermore the Italian international was chosen as the UEFA player of the year because of his performances for club and country.
Meanwhile, N’Golo Kante was crucial to Chelsea’s Champions League win and the Frenchman is undoubtedly one of the best players in his position. Holding on to him for his peak years should be a priority for the Blues.
As far as a Mason Mount is concerned, the highly-rated attacking midfielder is one of the most promising prospects to come out of the Chelsea academy in recent seasons and he has established himself as a key player for Thomas Tuchel.
All three midfielders are currently indispensable assets for the London club and it will be interesting to see if the club director Marina Granovskaia can agree on new deals with them over the coming months.
