Manchester United’s cost of sacking Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has been revealed

Ole Gunnar Solskjær-Manchester United

Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is under a lot of pressure after his side’s recent run of form and there have been reports that the Premier League giants could consider replacing him if results do not improve in the coming weeks.

According to the Sun, the Premier League giants could be forced to pay the Norwegian a hefty severance package of around £7.5 million if they decide to sack him now.

Solskjaer is currently the fifth highest-paid manager in the Premier League and the club hierarchy are now undecided on whether to relieve him of his duties.  Only the likes of Pep Guardiola, Jurgen Klopp, Brendan Rodgers and Marcelo Bielsa earn more than the Manchester United manager.

The 5-0 defeat against Liverpool last week has forced the club to consider Solskjaer’s position as the manager but the Norwegian is expected to be in charge of Manchester United’s Premier League game at the weekend against Tottenham Hotspur.

A defeat against the London club could be devastating for the side as well as the manager. Manchester United cannot afford to fall further behind their rivals in the title race.

Furthermore, a defeat this week could damage their morale ahead of a tricky fixture list. The Red Devils are set to face the likes of Atalanta, Manchester City, Chelsea and Arsenal in the coming weeks.

The Old Trafford outfit are in desperate need of a positive result to boost their morale and it remains to be seen whether Manchester United can grind out a win against Tottenham this week.
