Chelsea transfer updates: Tomori to move on loan, Rice decision, Bundesliga defender linked

Chelsea boss Lampard slams referee Taylor and VAR decisions

Tomori to leave on loan, says Lampard

Chelsea gaffer Frank Lampard has revealed that out of favour defender Fikayo Tomori could leave Stamford Bridge on loan in January.

Tomori has run out of game time this season after Kurt Zouma and Thiago Silva became Lampard’s preferred centre-back pairing.

Following the exclusion in the FA Cup clash against Morecambe, Lampard said that Tomori might end up getting loaned in January transfer window to get more game time elsewhere.

The situation with Fikayo Tomori is open about the moment. There is a possibility he could be going on loan to get game time somewhere else.

So that would have to be the solution for him and the club. That was part of my thinking of not starting him today.’

Rice not preferring Man Utd transfer

Chelsea target Declan Rice is reportedly not preferring to move to Manchester United, who are also another suitor for the English midfielder.

It is also added that Rice would like to stay at his current club West Ham United and hence a January move looks an impossible one.

However, the Blues have been handed a boost following Rice’s reported decision to not consider Man Utd.

Upamecano on Blues’ radar

Leipzig defender Dayot Upamecano has become the latest target of Chelsea, who are also aware that a cluster of top clubs are interested in signing him.

Lampard wants to bolster the defence, which has been underwhelming this season.

However, a January transfer is not a possible one as Leipzig don’t want to sell their star ace at this time although he can be signed next summer, with his release clause rating at €42m.
