Chelsea keeping tabs on Aguero.

Chelsea are reportedly interested in signing Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero, who is out of contract this summer.

The Argentine is yet to hold talks with Citizens over a contract renewal and it has been understood that he prefers to stay in the Premier League even if he leaves Etihad.

Barcelona are reportedly keen on signing Aguero on a free transfer as new president Joan Laporta sees this addition could help Aguero’s compatriot Lionel Messi to remain at the club.

The Blues are scouring the transfer market for a Number 9 despite having Tammy Abraham and Oliver Giroud at their disposal.

Furthermore, recent reports are stating that Blues remain keen on sought-after striker Erling Haaland.

Sources close to Sergio Aguero say he is worried his glittering ten-year City career may be sliding towards a disappointing end. He would like to stay at the Etihad but if no offer is forthcoming, he is open to joining another club in England.

Rio Ferdinand offers his verdict on newly transformed Antonio Rudiger.

Antonio Rudiger has been transformed into a top-class defender under Thomas Tuchel unlike his time under Frank Lampard, where he was seen as a complete misfit.

The German centre-back produced another solid display in the win over Atletico Madrid last night, containing the likes of Luis Suarez and Joao Felix.

Former English defender Rio Ferdinand has offered his verdict on Rudiger’s revival.

“I think he’s a solid defender. I think on the ball, you can see some weakness in his game, but defending-wise, you can see an edge to him we haven’t seen in a while especially under Frank.

It was obvious Frank didn’t fancy him as a defender and that happens in your career, it can’t just be a bed of roses for everyone, but he’s responded ever so well since he’s been called upon by the new manager.”

Chelsea have kept 16 clean sheets in the 21 games Antonio Rüdiger has played this season - a 76% clean sheet record. Having a superb season, especially under Tuchel.
