Paul Pogba snubs Solskjaer after Liverpool defeat, stalls Manchester United contract talks

Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba has apparently stalled his contract talks with the club following the 5-0 defeat against Liverpool in Premier League on Sunday.

The French international midfielder was brought on as a substitute during the second half to turn things in Manchester United’s favour but he picked up a red card just a few minutes into the game after a shocking challenge on Liverpool midfielder Naby Keita.

According to the Sun, the midfielder apologized to his teammates after the game for his reckless challenge but he ignored manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, who has apparently lost the backing of the key players in the dressing room.

The 28-year-old midfielder will be a free agent at the end of the season and it remains to be seen whether the Red Devils can convince him to commit his long term future to the club.

The player has been linked with the likes of Paris Saint-Germain and her Real Madrid in the past and there is unlikely to be a shortage of suitors if a player of his calibre is available on a free transfer at the end of this season.

The midfielder seems unhappy with the team’s current performances and he recently revealed publicly that the team has been underperforming for a long time and they need to find a way to play with more maturity and with more experience.

Pogba said after the Leicester defeat: “We’ve had these kinds of games for a long time. We have not found the problem, conceding easy goals – we need to be more mature, play with more experience and arrogance in a good way. We need to find something, we need to change.”
