Ex-Chelsea assistant boss Morris hails Lukaku body transformation

Conte-Lukaku-Inter Milan

Former Chelsea assistant manager Jody Morris has hailed the incredible body transformation of new Chelsea striker Romelu Lukaku.

The Belgian was re-signed by Chelsea this summer and has returned to Stamford Bridge in a better and leaner shape, leading to praise from Morris and fans.

Ahead of making his second Chelsea debut this weekend against Arsenal, the £98million summer signing has already gotten back to work in training with his new teammates.

Jody Morris took to Twitter to hail Lukaku’s physical condition.

Not sure if it’s just me, but Lukaku looks in great condition, by the way, …Not sure I remember him looking as lean as this when previously in the Prem??

The former Inter Milan striker was playing at a weight of more than 100kg while at Manchester United but was put on a strict diet after his move to San Siro, thanks to Antonio Conte‘s intervention. Lukaku was sent to meet with specialist Matteo Pinnella, who studied the decomposition of his body waste. The specialist reportedly discovered a digestive problem that was hindering Lukaku.

As a result, a new diet was recommended and saw Lukaku lose half a stone in just 12 days. He would go on to score 64 goals in 95 appearances in two seasons at Inter.

Last year, Lukaku told Inter’s official podcast:

‘When I joined Inter, we did an analysis of my body and a lot has changed. I eat a lot of salad and fish, which has a great effect on me. I take carnitine, it makes me feel good, and I take vitamins.

‘I eat salad for lunch, a lot of chicken breast, shirataki noodles. Since following this lifestyle, I feel better on the pitch, more responsive and faster. I love sweet potatoes and black rice. I don’t eat pasta.

‘I have reached another level, physically and mentally. The day before the game, I can go overboard with carbohydrates. After most matches, I eat two packs of gnocchi. They get into my circulation quickly; they help me a lot. I drink and eat at the stadium, in our canteen, or I take my food home, then recover with lots of ice.’

Fans also took to social media to marvel at his transformation, with one saying:

Massive congrats (four clapping emojis). Can you ask Lukaku how he changed his diet? His transformation is freaking insane!’

‘This Lukaku transformation is an incredible man. Everyone knows he isn’t the same player he once was at United..’ another said.
