Inter Milan striker Romelu Lukaku is now thought to be closing in on a move to Chelsea this summer.

According to the latest reports, the Serie A champions have said “yes” to Chelsea’s offer of around €128 million for the Belgian international.

The player has reportedly given his approval to the transfer as well.

The Blues were determined to improve their attacking options this summer and Thomas Tuchel will be delighted with the capture of Lukaku.

The 28-year-old striker is one of the best in the world and he managed to score 30 goals across all competitions last season.

Lukaku knows the Premier League well from his time at Chelsea, West BromEverton and Manchester United. He should be able to make an immediate impact at Stamford Bridge next season.

The Blues spent big money on the German striker Timo Werner at the start of last season but the former RB Leipzig star has failed to live up to the expectations.

It is hardly surprising that Chelsea have chosen to invest on another striker this summer.

They will need a world-class attacker to bridge the gap with Manchester City and Lukaku is certainly a massive upgrade on the German international.

During his first spell at the London club, the Belgian striker struggled to make a notable contribution and he will feel that he has unfinished business at Stamford Bridge.

It will be interesting to see if Lukaku can guide Chelsea to a Premier League title next season.
