Barcelona are currently undergoing a deep crisis in terms of finance and the performances on the pitch.

Bayern Munich want to take advantage of it as they have reportedly set sights on some of their key players.

According to ESPN, the Bundesliga champions are planning to raid the Catalan club for the likes of Frenkie de Jong, Pedri, Riqui Puig, Sergino Dest and Marc Andre ter Stegen.

Dest was a top target for Bayern in the summer of 2020 but he eventually chose Barca. It is unlikely that Barca could sell De Jong and Pedri, as both are in the club’s long-term plans. The Blaugrana are also closing in on a new deal for Pedri, who enjoyed a brilliant 2020/21 season for both club and country.

Puig was previously linked with a move to Allianz Arena after he was informed by Ronald Koeman that he wouldn’t be in his plans. While the young La Masia midfielder is still longing for regular game time, Bayern have a great chance to sign him.

Ter Stegen has been a mainstay for Barca and no other keepers have come close to trouble his first team spot. The German shot-stopper had been previously linked with a move to Bayern as a successor for his fellow countryman Manuel Neuer.

Barca’s financial crisis reflected in their transfer business, as they managed to sign only free agents like Sergio Aguero, Memphis Depay and Eric Garcia in the summer transfer window. Furthemore, they also sold talismanic figures Antoine Griezmann and Lionel Messi.
