Aston Villa midfielder Jack Grealish has been heavily linked with a move away from Villa Park this summer.

The 25-year-old was excellent for the West Midlands club last season, and the likes of Manchester City are thought to be keeping tabs on him.

According to reports, the midfielder is now expected to sign a new deal that will keep him at Aston Villa for the foreseeable future.

Grealish has developed into one of the finest playmakers in the Premier League over the last few years, and it would be a massive boost for Aston Villa if they managed to hold on to him.

Villa have been extremely ambitious in the transfer market so far, and Dean Smith will be hoping that it is enough to convince his star midfielder to commit his long term future to the club.

Manchester City are one of the best teams in world football, and the opportunity to work with Pep Guardiola will be tempting for most players. It remains to be seen how the situation with Grealish develops over the next few weeks.

Even if Villa are forced to sell the 25-year-old, they are likely to demand a premium for his services, and Manchester City would have to pay a club-record fee to stand any chance of signing him.

That said, Grealish is prodigiously talented, and he is yet to reach his peak. The midfielder is likely to improve with experience and coaching.

Working with a top-class manager like Pep Guardiola will help him develop as a player, and he could justify a massive outlay on him over the next few years.
