Bayern Munich director Oliver Kahn has once again insisted that German club are not interested in a move for Cristiano Ronaldo.

The former Real Madrid player has informed United he wishes to leave this summer as he looks for a club that will help him compete in the Champions League football next season.

The Bundesliga giants are one club reportedly interested in signing the Portuguese forward this summer.

Recently, former Bayern Munich midfielder Lothar Matthaus encouraged Bayern to buy Ronaldo as he said it would be a ‘sexy’ move if Ronaldo moved to the German club this summer.

But according to the club’s director Kahn, such a deal is not workable this summer because the Old Trafford forward does not match the German giants’ ‘philosophy’.

The German legend told Kicker via Daily Mail: “As much as I appreciate Cristiano Ronaldo as one of the greatest [footballers ever], a transfer would not fit into our philosophy.”

Meanwhile, Manchester United have reportedly decided that they are willing to sell Ronaldo during the summer transfer window.

According to a report in The Sun, Erik ten Hag has asked the club to sanction the sale of the 37-year-old as he doesn’t want to keep him against his will to avoid getting involved in a long, drawn-out transfer saga.
