Tottenham have been linked with the move to the Real Madrid midfielder Luka Modric.
Apparently Jose Mourinho has personally called up the former Tottenham midfielder regarding a transfer back to Tottenham.
Jose Mourinho was the one who took Luka Modric to Real Madrid from Tottenham and the Portuguese manager is looking to sign him once again.
The 35 year old midfielder will be a free agent at the end of this season and Tottenham could sign him up on a massive bargain in the summer.
Luka Modric will be in the final six months of his contract with the transfer window reopens in January and he will be allowed to speak to clubs regarding a summer move. He could sign a pre-contract agreement with Spurs.
It will be interesting to see if Mourinho can convince him to return to the Premier League next season.
The Croatian international is one of the best midfielders in the world but he’s not getting any younger. At 35, he’s unlikely to get better and therefore it could prove to be an uninspiring signing for the London club in the long run.
That said, Luka Modric could be a decent addition in the short term. His quality, leadership ability and winning experience could prove to be invaluable for the Tottenham dressing room.
It remains to be seen whether Tottenham can pull off the transfer in the coming months.
