Jurgen Klopp mocks Arteta after a verbal spat, as Liverpool hammer Arsenal

Klopp confirms Liverpool departure date

Liverpool picked up a thumping 4-0 win against Arsenal at Anfield in the Premier League last night.

Goals from Sadio Mane, Diogo Jota, Mohamed Salah and Takumi Minamino ensured three points for the home side.

Early on in the game, Jurgen Klopp and Mikel Arteta were involved in a furious row in the touch-line after Sadio Mane tripped down the Gunners defender Tomiyasu.

Arteta might have thought it was a serious challenge and soon got involved in a verbal spat with the German manager.

Not long after, Mane opened the account for the Reds and Klopp was spotted doing an ear-cupping celebration, which could have been aimed at Arteta.

Klopp has also weighed in on the heated row with Arteta, claiming that the foul involving Mane and Tomiyasu wasn’t serious.

The Reds gaffer has also been disappointed with the way everyone wants to get the Senegalese forward booked.

Klopp said (h/t Liverpool Echo): “Actually it was not really a big deal but I have told all the other [media] so I have to tell you as well. The situation is that it was a completely clean situation, nothing happened.

“Two players jumped in the air, no-one touched each other like a foul and the bench for Arsenal is going for whatever. So I just asked, ‘what do you want for that?’

“There was no contact and it looks like everyone wants a yellow card [for Mane] and for me I am really sick of these situations where everyone tries to go for Sadio in these moments.”

Liverpool have moved to second in the Premier League table with 25 points while Arsenal saw their 10-match unbeaten streak come to an end.
