Chelsea offer a contract to David Alaba amid Premier League interest

Bayern Munich defender David Alaba has been linked with a move away from the German club this summer and it appears that Chelsea have already made their move to sign him.

The 28-year-old Austrian defender will be a free agent at the end of this season and the Blues are looking to snap him up on a free transfer.

Apparently, they are the only Premier League club to have offered a contract to the Austrian so far.

It will be interesting to see if we can convince Alaba to move to Stamford Bridge. The 28-year-old is a world-class player and he would be a tremendous signing for Thomas Tuchel especially on a free transfer.

Alaba can play as a centre back, a full-back or a defensive midfielder. His versatility will be an added bonus for Chelsea.

He has already proven himself at the highest level in club football and he has won every trophy possible with Bayern. His experience and winning mentality could be invaluable to the Chelsea dressing room next season.

Alaba has been linked with the likes of Real Madrid and Liverpool in recent weeks as well and it appears that the Austrian is keen on joining the Spanish outfit eventually.

Chelsea certainly have the finances to tempt the top players in world football and it remains to be seen if they can change Alaba’s mind in the coming weeks.
