Leeds United

Leeds United’s season went from bad to worse on Wednesday night as they were beaten 6-0 by Liverpool.

Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane both scored a brace in the game while Liverpool’s defensive pairing of Joel Matip and Virgil van Dijk also scored a goal each.

The loss was Leeds’ fourth PL loss in the last five outings and followed another chastening 4-2 loss to Manchester United over the weekend.

As a result, the Yorkshire side comes into this round of games sitting in 15th place, just three points ahead of 18th-placed Burnley who have played two games less.

Marcelo Bielsa’s side are currently the side with the worst defence in the league having conceded 56 times. They will look to get back to winning ways when they host Spurs, as only an excellent result can guarantee that they don’t end this round sitting in the relegation zone.

Possible Leeds United starting line-up

Illan Meslier; Luke Ayling, Diego Llorente, Robin Koch, Stuart Dallas; Mateusz Klich, Adam Forshaw; Raphinha, Rodrigo, Jack Harrison; Daniel James…

Injured: Patrick Bamford, Liam Cooper, Sam Greenwood, Kalvin Phillips, Leo Fuhr Hjelde

Doubtful: Robin Koch

Suspended: None

Tottenham Hotspur

Meanwhile, Tottenham blew another chance to close the gap between them and the top four as they were beaten 1-0 by Burnley on Wednesday night.

After their masterclass against Manchester City on Saturday, one was expecting them to mount a serious charge for the top four.

Rather, what followed was an insipid display against Sean Dyche’s Burnley side, who inflicted a fourth league defeat in the last five games against Spurs.

With the gap between them and fourth-placed Manchester United now seven points, Tottenham will be desperate to get back to winning ways.

Antonio Conte has the tools and experience to build a more consistent team and will look for a proper response from his boys.

Possible Tottenham starting line-up

Hugo Lloris; Cristian Romero, Eric Dier, Ben Davies; Emerson Royal, Rodrigo Bentancur, Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, Ryan Sessegnon; Lucas Moura, Harry Kane, Heung-Min Son.

Injured: None

Doubtful: Japeth Tanganga, Oliver Skipp, Sergio Reguilon

Suspended: None
