Leeds United

Leeds United will lock horns with Manchester United when the 18 times Premier League champions travel to Elland Road on Sunday.

Marcelo Bielsa’s wards have performed poorly recently, gathering only four points in their last four games. A more recent 3-0 loss away to Everton have left them in an uncomfortable 15th position just six points ahead of Norwich in 17th place.

To their defence though, the ‘Lilly Whites’ have had an injury-hit this season, losing a first-team player at intervals all through the season, with first-choice striker Patrick Bamford being out the longest. With their injury woes, it is safe to say that Leeds have not had a very bad season. Having played fewer games than Crystal Palace and Brentford directly above them in 13 and 14 places respectively, they can argue that their current league position is not accurate until they play their complete fixtures.

With the race to the top four and bottom four heating up, Leeds can ill afford to slip up more. A win against Manchester United will certainly put them in a good position to remain in the Premier League next season.

Possible Leeds starting line-up

Illan Meslier; Luke Ayling, Diego Llorente, Robin Koch, Stuart Dallas; Mateusz Klich, Adam Forshaw; Raphinha, Rodrigo, Jack Harrison; Daniel James..

Injured: Patrick Bamford, Liam Cooper, Sam Greenwood, Kalvin Phillips, Leo Fuhr Hjelde

Doubtful: Junior Firpo

Suspended: None

Manchester United

Manchester United will be looking to make it two wins from two when they visit Elland Road on Sunday.

The Red Devils previously recorded two back-to-back draws and a dramatic loss to Championship side Middlesbrough in the FA Cup some weeks ago and will be gunning for more consistency here.

The visitors recorded their first win this month with a win against Graham Potter’s Brighton side courtesy of a Cristiano Ronaldo stunner and Bruno Fernandes scored in the dying stages of the game. The win kept

The win against Brighton lifted Manchester United above West Ham and into fourth place; a position they’ve long craved. So consolidating on that position will certainly be Rangnick’s ambition as we approach the ending stages of the season. With west ham and Arsenal breathing down their necks and the latter having played two games less, a win at Elland Road has never been more crucial.

Meanwhile, Rangnick can count the recent return of Paul Pogba from injury and the recent form of Jadon Sancho as a blessing, having recently lost Mason Greenwood, who is currently serving a football ban.

Possible Manchester United starting line-up

David de Gea; Diogo Dalot, Raphael Varane, Harry Maguire, Luke Shaw; Paul Pogba, Scott McTominay; Jadon Sancho, Bruno Fernandes, Anthony Elanga; Cristiano Ronaldo.

Injured: Nemanja Matic, Edinson Cavani

Doubtful: None

Suspended: Mason Greenwood
