Leicester City came out on top in the weekend Premier League fixture against Manchester United, beating them 4-2 at King Power Stadium.

United were deemed the favourites due to Leicester’s struggling start this season however the home side proved us otherwise.

Mason Greenwood gave the visitors the breakthrough through a stunning strike only to be cancelled out by Youri Tielemans’ equaliser.

The second half turned out to be an even more entertaining affair, with Caglar Soyuncu putting the hosts ahead with a goal from a corner kick.

Not long after, the Red Devils got their equaliser through substitute Marcus Rashford, who latched onto Victor Lindelof’s long ball.

However, the Foxes responded immediately with a stunning volley from Jamie Vardy before Patson Daka put the game to bed in injury time.

Tielemans with an exquisite display

Youri Tielemans left behind the disappointment with the Belgian national team in the Nations League semifinals against France and rose to the occasion against the Red Devils. The young central midfielder put on an immaculate display, scoring Leicester’s first equaliser in a brilliant fashion while not compromising with the defensive duties. The 24-year-old, who has already racked up 2 goals and 2 assists in the Premier League this season, could have added another goal to his tally if not for David de Gea’s brilliant save in the final quarter.

United’s impressive away record comes to an end.

Man Utd were deemed the favourites due to their impressive away record and Leicester’s struggling start to the season. However, United’s 29-match unbeaten streak in the away games over a year came to an end against the Foxes. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was thought to benefit from the services of Paul Pogba, Cristiano Ronaldo and Bruno Fernandes, who were coming on the back of an impressive international break but that was not the case in the end. The defeat also means that United have managed only one victory in their last five games across all competitions.

Jamie Vardy continues his impressive goalscoring run.

The Foxes have been off to a disappointing start to the new season but the only positive turns out to be Jamie Vardy’s impressive goal scoring form. The Veteran English striker, who has already scored 6 goals in the Premier League, added another one to his tally after scoring a stunning volley from Ayoze Perez’s pass. Soon after Rashford equalised for United, Perez managed to find Vardy with his final pass and the 34-year-old capitalised on the opportunity.
