Leicester City grind out a 1-0 win over Wolves despite the penalty miss

Jamie Vardy-Leicester City

Leicester City picked up a 1-0 win over Wolverhampton Wanderers in the Premier League earlier tonight.

Jamie Vardy scored the only goal of the game on the 15th minute when the England international converted from the penalty spot.

Vardy missed another penalty for Leicester City but the Foxes managed to grind out the win eventually.

Brendan Rodgers will be reasonably pleased with his team’s performance tonight and he will be hoping that Leicester City can continue their impressive start to the season and secure a top-four finish this season.

Wolverhampton Wanderers have started the season in poor form and they will have to bounce back strongly in their next game against Southampton at home.

The win leaves Leicester City on top of the table with 18 points and Wolves are now eight with just 13 points from eight matches.

Both teams will have expected to challenge for European qualification this season and it will be interesting to see if Wolverhampton Wanderers can turn their form around in the coming weeks.

Leicester City had an impressive transfer window in the summer and they are reaping the rewards of smart signings so far.

The Foxes are expected to improve in the coming weeks when their injured players return to action.

It remains to be seen if Leicester City can put together a winning run and extend their lead at the top of the table in the coming matches.

You can’t underestimate how important Vardy is for Leicester with the goals he brings to the team.
