Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has reportedly exchanged several phone calls with Kylian Mbappe and his entourage.
The 22-year-old is said to be keen on a move away from PSG, with his contract expiring next summer and has rejected a new deal.
According to reports, Klopp has been in contact with Mbappe for a while and also had spoken with his father, thus fuelling the transfer speculations to Anfield.
After capturing Lionel Messi, PSG president Nasser Al Khelaifi stated that there is no way for Mbappe to leave this summer.
As it turns out, the French World Cup winner wants to seek an exit and is reportedly planning to hand a transfer request to Les Parisiens.
Real Madrid are said to be leading the race, and Mbappe’s preferred destination also appears to be the Spanish Capital club.
However, given their current financial state, it is really uncertain that Los Blancos can afford a large sum of money for Mbappe in this transfer window. Perhaps, Madrid are planning to go for him when he becomes a free agent in the summer of 2022.
Liverpool are yet to open their account in the transfer window, and Klopp has insisted that there is no need for any significant signings for Premier League club.
Mbappe can be a dream signing for the Reds, but it remains to be seen whether they have the resources to pull off such a high-end transfer.
