Chelsea speeding up the pursuit of Jules Kounde, Emerson to Lyon

Barcelona want to sign Sevilla youngster Jules Kounde

Chelsea to push for Jules Kounde in the coming days

Chelsea are ready to push for the transfer of Sevilla defender Jules Kounde in the coming days.

The French defender turns out to be a number one target for the Blues, who had reportedly agreed on personal terms with the player.

There appeared to be a stumbling block when Kurt Zouma – the reported makeweight in the deal – was reluctant to move away from Stamford Bridge.

Now, the Londoners are planning to go all out for Kounde regardless of Zouma’s decision.

The Blues have recently splashed out 97.5m pounds for the transfer of Romelu Lukaku, and now they want to follow up with the signing of Kounde.

Sevilla are demanding a fee of around 80m euros for the French youngster, who was a revelation in La Liga last season.

Lyon in talks with Chelsea to sign Emerson

Lyon are reportedly in talks with the Blues over the signing of Emerson Palmieri, who has become a fringe player over the last two seasons.

With Marcos Alonso and Ben Chilwell up in the pecking order of Thomas Tuchel, the Italian left-back, who was part of the Euro 2020 winning team, has fewer chances to prove himself at Stamford Bridge.

Furthermore, Tuchel is keen on trimming the squad size, and players like Emerson are on the chopping block.

Lyon are showing great interest in the 27-year-old after missing out on PSG star Layvin Kurzawa. A move to Ligue 1 also looks sensible at the moment as he can revive his career with more game time.
