Liverpool looking to offer a new deal to Roberto Firmino

Roberto Firmino-Liverpool

Liverpool are reportedly planning to offer Brazilian striker Roberto Firmino a new contract at the club.

The 30-year-old has been an exceptional servant for the Reds since joining the club from Hoffenheim, and he has established himself as a key player for Jurgen Klopp.

The striker has a contract at Anfield until the summer of 2023, and it appears that Jurgen Klopp is prepared to keep him at the club beyond his current deal.

Firmino has proven himself to be more than just a goal scorer for Liverpool. His intelligence and technical ability means that he could contribute at a higher level for the foreseeable future.

It will be interesting to see if the two parties can agree on a new deal.

The likes of Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane have been linked with new contracts at the club as well, and it would be wise of the Premier League giants to secure their front three for the long term.

Liverpool have done an exceptional job to bring in the likes of Diogo Jota and Luis Diaz recently, but the likes of Firmino could still be an invaluable part of the Reds dressing room.

The Brazilian has won the Champions League, and the Premier League with the club and his experience and work ethic mean that he could be a mentor for the young forwards at the club.

Firmino has not been at his best over the past year, but that could be down to fatigue, and the Brazilian certainly has a lot to offer at the highest level yet.
