Liverpool beaten in Rodrigo De Paul chase

Liverpool have been heavily linked with a move for the Argentine international Rodrigo De Paul in recent weeks. Still, it seems that the midfielder is now headed to Atletico Madrid instead.

According to reports, the Spanish champions will sign the midfielder in an initial €35 million deal, and the fee could rise to €40 million with bonuses.

Furthermore, the midfielder is expected to sign a five-year contract with Atletico Madrid, and he will earn around €3.5 million per year.

De Paul is currently away on international duty with Argentina, and he will join up with his new teammates once the Copa America is over.

The 26-year-old had an impressive season with Udinese, and it is no surprise that the top European clubs were vying for his services.

Atletico Madrid midfielder Saul Niguez has been linked with a move away from the club, and De Paul could be his replacement.

Patson Daka keen on Liverpool move

Meanwhile, Zambian international Patson Daka is thought to be very keen on moving to Liverpool this summer.

The 22-year-old has been in outstanding form for RB Salzburg this past season, and he has scored 27 goals in just 28 Austrian Bundesliga appearances.

Apparently, Manchester United, Manchester City and Arsenal have all been keeping tabs on the young attacker, but Liverpool are currently leading the race for his signature.

The attacker has three years left on his current deal and is likely to cost around £17 million.

The Reds could use some depth in the attack, and someone like Daka could prove to be a quality long term investment.
