Juan Mata extension
Manchester United midfielder Juan Mata is said to be handed a contract extension.
The 32-year-old has fallen down the pecking order at Old Trafford and he has not been a key player for the Red Devils for quite some time now.
The player was expected to leave on a free transfer at the end of the season but it seems that Manchester United have decided to trigger a one year extension option in his contract.
It will be interesting to see if they decide to keep the midfielder at the club after handing him a new deal. Alternatively, they could look to sell the player for a reasonable fee as well.
The former Chelsea player joined Manchester United back in 2014 and he has not been able to live up to the expectations and recapture his form from Stamford Bridge.
David De Gea exit
Meanwhile, Spanish international goalkeeper David De Gea is expected to leave the club this summer and Manchester United could offer him a major pay off in order to terminate his contract.
The goalkeeper has two years left on his £350,000 a week deal and the Old Trafford outfit will have to pay a significant portion of his contract in order to get rid of him this summer.
De Gea has regressed over the past year and he is no longer the player he used to be.
Manchester United need a better goalkeeper starting for them and it will be interesting to see if Dean Henderson ends up replacing him at Old Trafford next season.
