Manchester City midfielder Phil Foden has been ranked as one of the three most valuable young players in Europe.

The 21-year-old has been an outstanding servant for the Premier League champions over the last few seasons and he has established himself as a key player for Pep Guardiola.

According to a report from CIES football observatory via Sportbible, Borussia Dortmund striker Erling Haaland, Real Madrid forward Vinicius junior and the Manchester City midfielder Phil Foden have been ranked as the most valuable youngsters in European football.

The likes of Mason Greenwood, Pedri and Florian Wirtz have managed to make it to the top ten as well.

According to the report, Phil Foden is valued at £128 million and clearly the England international is one of the most highly-rated players around in terms of talent and potential.

The Manchester City star has the ability to develop into a world-class footballer and it will be interesting to see how he develops over the next few years.

Joao Cancelo set for a contract extension

Meanwhile, the Premier League giants are prepared to reward Portuguese international Joao Cancelo with a new contract.

The defender has been exceptional for Pep Guardiola’s side since joining the club.

Cancelo signed for Manchester City in a deal worth around 65 million and he has managed to justify the outlay with splendid performances for the Premier League side.

There is no doubt that Cancelo is one of the best fullbacks in the world right now and it is hardly a surprise that the Premier League giants are prepared to extend his stay at the club.

Cancelo has a contract with Manchester City until the summer of 2025 and it remains to be seen whether the two parties can agree on an extension in the coming months.
